Overview

With 4 of Australia's best golf courses within easy reach of each other, Tasmania's Barnbougle & King Island have fast become Australia's hottest golfing destinations.

Both of these Tasmanian locations offer delightful non-golf attractions: King Island is renowned for its production of cheese and its fresh seafood, most notably the crayfish; and mainland Tasmania is the home to many well-known wineries, prestigious Chef-hatted restaurants and some incredibly beautiful nature reserves and national parks.

There are multiple options for getting to and from King Island and Barnbougle, including on both scheduled commercial flights and on chartered flights.

Following are a few suggested itineraries for your next Barnbougle and/or King Island golf trip. These are unescorted, private travel packages and can be booked for any time of year based on availability.

Please note that we specialise in groups of 8 and above and while the prices below are based on a group of 16 people travelling together (as that is the ideal number to maximise cost-effectiveness for charter flights) packages can be tailored to suit groups of any size on either charter or commercial flights.

Kindly note that these are indicative starting prices only and prices may be higher depending on the time of year you wish to travel.

Flights included in the itineraries below are in-and-out of Melbourne, however we can certainly include additional interstate flights with your booking, should you wish, once we know where you are travelling from.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in King Island, Tasmania

Cape Wickham Resort & Golf Course

Upon arrival, meet your friendly Tour Director from Allstar Tours.
Board your luxury coach and travel along the rugged beauty of the island. King Island is renowned for its dairy products, mostly flat landscapes, rocky western shoreline, and rich maritime history with many shipwrecks.

Check into the Cape Wickham Resort, which offers a range of room options overlooking Victoria Cove — perfect for a refreshing morning dip. The rooms feature views of the iconic Cape Wickham Lighthouse and the wild Southern Ocean. The resort also offers a 12-hole putting green, with caddies and buggies available.

This afternoon, enjoy a round at the Cape Wickham Golf Course — one of Australia’s best-kept secrets. Set amidst dramatic coastal scenery on King Island’s northeastern tip, it offers a true links-style experience surrounded by wild, natural beauty.

Welcome Dinner:

Tonight, dine at the Wickham Restaurant, featuring local delicacies such as King Island crayfish, rack of lamb, fresh Tasmanian salmon, and fine cheeses.

Day 2: Barnbougle Golf Course

Enjoy breakfast at the resort before departing King Island and transferring to the Tasmanian mainland early in the morning.
Check into The Cove Resort.

This afternoon, play at the Barnbougle Dunes Golf Course, a masterpiece of traditional links design. With spectacular vistas over Tasmania’s North East Coast, the Dunes course is set amidst wild, dramatic landscapes and is recognised as one of Australia’s most picturesque and challenging golf destinations.

Farewell Dinner:

Celebrate the end of your golfing getaway with a farewell dinner in Devonport, sampling the region’s finest seafood — including crayfish, scallops, and freshly caught local fish.
